While Varanasi is one of the holiest and oldest cities in India, Bodh Gaya is a vital and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage centre. Upon your arrival in Varanasi by train or flight, you will be greeted by our tour representatives, who will help you get to Bodh Gaya. Complete the check-in formalities and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

On this day, you will be taken to see the Bodhi Tree, which is a sacred fig tree in Bodh Gaya and where Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. Offer your prayers at the Vishnupad Temple in Gaya which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Make your way back to Varanasi, check-in to your hotel, and get a good night’s sleep.

 

Enjoy a filling breakfast and then leave for Allahabad, the city which has now been renamed Prayagraj. Take a dip in Triveni Sangam, which is a confluence of three rivers. Visit the historic house museum known as Anand Bhavan and pay your respects at the Hanuman Mandir.

Head back to Varanasi, and while you’re on your way, make a stop at Vindhyachal and Sitamarhi. Check-in to your hotel at Varanasi and have a relaxing night.

Haridwar is one of the four holy cities that host the Kumbh Mela every 12 years. Hindus visit the city to offer prayers to the Ganga River. Rishikesh is another holy city revered by Hindus. Upon your arrival at Delhi, our tour manager will welcome you and drive you to Haridwar. The journey takes around 4.5 hours and is loved for its scenic views. Check into the hotel and spend some time relaxing.

Haridwar translates to “The Gateway to Vishnu,” as this is where pilgrims start their Char Dham yatra. Interestingly, Shaivites call this place Hardwar, as Har means Shiva, while Vaishnavites call it Haridwar, with Hari meaning Vishnu.

The most auspicious place in Haridwar is the Har ki Pauri, which is believed to be the Ganges’ exit point from the mountains. From here, the Ganges enters the plains. It is called the Brahma Kund, as legend has it that this is where a drop of amrit fell on earth when Garuda was carrying the Elixir of Eternal Life after Sagar Manthan, or the Churning of the Ocean.

Later, you will proceed to Rishikesh. This holy city is situated at the confluence of the Ganga and the Chandrabhaga Rivers. Hindus believe that a dip in the Ganga river here washes all sins.
